Florentina was born on October 17th, 1854 in Malpaso de Villanueva, Zacatecas, Mexico and her baptism took place there on October 17th, 1854.^1 2

Florentina's father was Atanacio Ramirez and her mother was Deonicia Medellin. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Gregorio, Antonio, Jose Maria, Jesus Antonio, Ma. Estanislao, Matiana Epefania, Maria Romana and Petra.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
