Ventura was born on July 14th, 1900 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico and his baptism took place there on July 14th, 1900.1  Ventura's father was Miguel de Jesus Ortega (Mendez) and his mother was Matiana Epefania Medellin Ramirez.  His paternal grandparents were Jose Lorenzo de Jesus Ortega (Balenzuela) and Dionicia Mendez; his maternal grandparents were Atanacio Ramirez and Deonicia Medellin. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Pedro, Guillermo, Lina and Maria Ines.  He was the youngest of the five children.
